My 1st Mixed Media Altered book!!

Hello my dear friends,   I'm here today to share my latest creation with you and
a first for me!!  I've seen people alter and decorate old books by ripping out pages and
inserting all their snippets of leftover papers and then adding bits of lace, keys, flowers
etc etc.  So I thought I would try it out.!!!! I LOVED THE END RESULT!!!!

I am definitely going to be making lots more of these as gifts for friends etc.

The papers for the covers and spine are Moonstone from Prima!!!
The inside of the book has been gesso'd and distressed with Tim Holtz
distress inks.

Here is a view of the Left hand side of the book

The pages have just been ripped out randomly and some have been glued together
to form little pockets where extra papers can be added.

A view below of the right hand side of the book

The back covers and spine I've kept simple as this really won't be see once
displayed on a stand.

Thank you so much for popping in to visit with me I do hope you got a little
inspiration and please come back and see me again soon

Have a lovely day.

Hugs

Crafter's Companion DT (Purple Pixies) Gemini Mixed Media Decorative Panel Dies!!

Hello my dears,  I'm here to share a few creations I
made recently for the launch of the new Gemini
Mixed Media Decorative Panel Dies.

These can be used to cut out Fabric/leather/cardstock/
felt/ among just a few of the many used.

I'm a paper crafter primarily so was intrigued to try
these out on paper and heavier card stock. Wow!!
amazing but the only downside is you really
need an extra set of cutting plates for your die
cutting machine as these cut much deeper than
your ordinary dies.

Anyways I think it's worth while investing in another
plate just to keep for your mixed media dies as they
are becoming more and more popular because of the
many uses.

Altered wooden wall plaque - Mixed Media Project

Hello my friends,  I'm here today to share a mixed media project I altered as a gift
for my Daughter.  I stripped all the paint from the wood and re-painted it with
gesso before adding Lemoncraft Gossamer blue papers. I then used a couple
of my stencils with some embossing paste to give the paper some texture.
I used my Graphic45 large tag clock die and Sara Davies shabby chic lily die, the
large die behind the clock is also from Crafter's Companion.  The
flowers were make using white foamiran from Magnolia-licious store and
coloured using oil pastels.

I popped some paper flowers from I am Roses, a few feathers and some sparkly
berries to finish it off.
The wooden plaque was bought for 50 pence on sale at B&M.

Thank you so much for popping in to visit, I hope you have a wonderful
crafty weekend ahead.
